Q. After installing the Hi-Torque clutch rollers my engine RPM drops while upshifting. Is this normal?
If you cannot find the answer to your question on this page please email us. A. Due to the highly desirable ease at which these clutch rollers move, your engine RPM may drop to below its peak torque range as your clutch is upshifting. If this happens, you can now get excited because you know your clutch is working better than before. At this point you will have to do some clutch tuning, which will be much easier than before due to the consistent performance of the Hi-Torque clutch roller. In most other cases your RPM will go precisely to where it should be and you will be happy. If you need assistance with your clutching, email us and we will do our best to help you out. If you wish to talk personally with us, leave us your phone number and we will call you as soon as we possibly can.
Q. What is the warranty on the Hi-Torque clutch rollers?
A. We warranty our secondary rollers for up to 1 year from date of purchase. In the event of roller failure just contact us and we will work out a solution that is satisfactory to you.
Q. Why is there 2 colors of rollers in the Diamond Drive set?
A. In order to achieve the high degree of reliability that we demand from our Hi-Torque Rollers, we continued to search for the best possible material. The new gray material more than met the requirements needed for the high pressures and heat of the Diamond Drive clutch even with the most extreme riders. The 3 gray 'drive' rollers, which take all the abuse, are considerably more expensive to produce; therefore by using the brown material for the 'following' rollers we were able to keep the cost down.
Q. Do you make clutch rollers for other brands of snowmobiles?
A. Currently we produce clutch rollers for the Arctic Cat secondary roller clutches as well as the brand new '08 - '10 Ski-Doo QRS secondary 2 roller clutch.
Q. Why have you added the stainless steel washers to the Diamond Drive Set?
A. We have added the washers to reduce the side thrust friction which eliminates wear and makes a smoother acting clutch.
Q. Do you have a roller for the Ski-Doo primary clutch? A. We are now supplying the TRA rollers that have proven their reliability over many years of use. We also belive that heat is a major contributor to primary clutch failure and because of the smooth, free action of the Hi-Torque clutch rollers, using them in the secondary clutch will go a long way towards helping to eliminate the excessive heat problem.
Q. If I use Hi-Torque Rollers in my clutch will I actually get a longer belt life?
A. Obviously there is no hard and fast rule but we have had a number of customers tell us they are getting as much as 2 to 3 times the belt life that they were getting before installing the Hi-Torque Rollers.
Q. Why do you offer two different rollers for the QRS clutch?
A. As we became aware of some of the very high performance products that were being made available, we wated to offer a roller with a greater tolerance for abuse.
Q. Do you have an oversize TRA roller?
A. We will have a 1mm oversiz TRA roller by fall 2010.
Q. Is the finish on the TRA roller pin really that important?
A. Yes it is extremely important that the finish on the roller pin be absolutely perfect or the roller bushing wont have a snowball's chance.
